Hi. Is there a way to find out the IP address of the lads if they are using a gmail or a msn/hotmail/live account ?

Hello mukabarat, and welcome to eater.

Unfotunately you cant trace their ip when they are using gmail. Gmail strips their ip from the headers, the only ip you'll find is the one from gmail itself. If they use msn/hotmail/live, you can find the ip. You just have to copy the headers into the box on this site: headertool.apelord.com and it will show and search all ips. The bottom one is the scammer's ip. Finding the headers of a mail is different for every mail provider. You can find how to if you click here.

As Caligula pointed out there isn't an easy way to get the IP from a lad using a Gmail account. As devil_woman said you can use kinky cards, but that's a little tougher to mix in if you're not romance baiting. There's always readnotify, but you only get a trial period for the email address you sign up with, and it's best saved if you have an impending safari or some other important reason other than curiosity (in my opinion).

My best advice is to just use some good ol' fashioned baiting techniques to convince your lad that they should be using a Yahoo!, Hotmail, etc. account rather than Gmail. Maybe your son/daughter/nephew/neighbor kid who is computer-savvy told you that Yahoo! is safer than Gmail and you won't use anything else? Whatever your reason if you can get them to make the switch (they probably have plenty of other accounts already) their IP will be yours! Very Happy
