Lad methods..

So in my last 2 bates the lad that first sent me the opening email pawned me off on a Dr. and the other the "shipping company" - Do you guys figure its the same lad just trying to make the scam more elaborate and believable? Or do you guys figure more often then not its a lad\oga relationship? You would think the lads would rather work solo and not have to share the money? I was thinkin of possibly pitting the lad and the oga against each other but I wouldent want to red flag the bait if it was the same person...

It is almost always the same mugu, using a new e-mail account.

Ogas rarely work a bait with their lads. Rather, they assign them jobs and expect a pay off.

When dealing with different email accounts from the same format (ie banker, barrister, dying widow) it is almost always the same lad. My favorite technique to irritate a lad is to talk bad about the barrister to the banker and the widow, talk bad about the widow to the banker and the barrister and talk bad about the banker to the barrister and the widow. I had lad and Barrister with different IP addresses, on IM together. Same person I doubt it very different styles.

Unless they are on gmail or using a proxy, you can check their IP addresses to see if they are the same person. Of course it may be that they are using the same computer, but that is highly unusual.

Welcome to eater, pornlando. While I agree they usually are probably the same lad, there are exceptions. I had a recent bait where the main lad's location showed Cote dIvory (or thereabouts) and the security company emails consistently originated from Spain.

A theory of mine is that the secondary characters are usually the ones sending out large files with deposit certificates and other legal type forms. The lad sitting in an internet cafe may have horrible upload speed available and would waste a lot of time uploading those files. If his script includes a lot of that it might pay to have an accomplice in a more advanced country could handle the sending of large files.

I had a lad's barrister recently send me one email with attachments totalling 10Meg (3 files of around 3M each). I said to myself, there's no way that much data was sent from my main lad's location. Sure enough, the barrister had an IP from Canada.
