After recently having some dealings with an inept and misguided cashbaiter, I've had an idea.

Many more successful baiters have set themselves up as fake lads, with some real-life connections to actual lads. Here's my idea, which may work, or may entirely fail.

1) Use lad connections to get hold of a list of target addresses- actual victims, the lists the lads use when sending out their formats.
2) Send a format, or get a format sent, which looks, feels and reads like a realistic format. Your email is set as the contact address.
3) When someone replies sounding interested, tell them they would have fallen for a 419 scam! Advise them about how internet scams work, point them at 419 Eater, tell them how to be safe online, the whole nine yards.
4) Feel pleased that there is one less potential victim in the world.

With a bit of tweaking it should be possible to do this without even damaging your "lad" character- they can get their account hacked, or be sending a format for one of their guys who betrays them, or whatever.

So, what do you think? Could this be fashioned into a workable modality?

Actually, this has been done a number of times. Very Happy

Some baiters have gone so far as to pretend to be check printers for fake check lads. Instead of sending checks to the intended victims, they send the list of vics to a mod here, who ensures that warnings are sent out.

It works a treat. Very Happy

the difficulties I see, I mean the enormous work, is - to reach the potential victims. you need the addresses + you need to sendout permanently.
the warning of the responders or the argumention with other lads is the least.

I think, even a very patient provider will close your account soonest. or you have access to the real mail-bombers / spammers.
