Anyone else here single and nearing their 40s?

I've spent the last month screaming in my head. So today I made the decision to take myself off the market permanently. I just do my own head in otherwise.

I feel kinda calm about it, which is bizarre.

How do you deal with it? Got any funny stories?
Or am I having one those talked about mid-life crisis (or whatever the plural is)?

I am same as you, Ms. M--but I have worked multiple jobs ever since I got out of college--the one I have to have to pay the bills, and the nonprofit one that doesn't pay the bills-- even when I am on here, I am flipping back and forth between this and comp work for the nonprofit. Sometimes it bothers me, but then I realize that the priorities I set were my own choice.

Similiar storey here, regular job pays the bills and home business pays for the 'fun stuff'. Trying not to turn into the neighborhood crazy cat lady.

Don't tell anybody, though. I'm doing 45 till I get it right.

And I just couldn't find the guy that lived up to my standards. I was raised by a man who was the most honest and ethical man on the planet (at least among the men I've met), and I just couldn't settle for any less.

By now, of course, I'm to set in my ways to share my things with anybody. Wink

in my case it is a bit a voluntary situation.
after long times of partnerships with ups and downs I made the decicsion - (hopefully for a limited) time to stay by myself.
and I enjoy the merits - do what I do without have to ask someone else about, and without to have considerations.
and am facing the downsides like a man.

to find ms. right would be nice, but hard to, if not a lucky strike.
though - it's getting harder, beeing over 50 now, to find someone matching.
but never was a member on a onlinge single page, so have no experience about.
as I am living in a city, chances still are to meet the ms.

Yea, I'm single, nearing 40s (8 years ta go, though).
I'm OK, I like being a bachelor. The downside is the constant pressure I get from mother and the rest of female relatives. Laughing

35 and single here. My last date was four and a half years ago. Sometimes I think about trying again, and I might even join some sort of online dating community, and then I'm quickly reminded of why I stopped dating in the first place. banghead
