Hi guys,

Can anyone tell whether or not the following website is an official Nigerian government website? The website seems to be offline and I can't find anything relating to it online.

www.mofsokoto.gov.ng

Thanks

.gov.ng domains can only be registered with the relevanty clearance as they are Government domains.

So, unless the scammer has managed to get hold of clearance, I would say that it is real. It is however hard to prove as the domain is down.

How did you come across it?

Thanks, B8er.

It was on the business card of a Nigerian government official. Everything else seems to check out but the website on the card doesn't seem to exist.

Does anyone know if there is a way of finding out if this website ever existed? It seems strange that he would have a non existent website on his business card.

Is this a legitimate Nigerian businessman, or someone you're corresponding with in a bait? If the latter, it may just be a smoke screen - something put there to make him look like someone with connections. If the former, it just may be a problem with the website.
