Jailbaiting oportunity?

Hi everyone,

It's been a while since I've ben on this forum - mainly because wedding planning is taking over my life! Anyway, I've received a few scams that I've simply been to busy to respond to, but this latest one has really caught my attention. Yesterday I received a scam message on my mobile phone. The number was local, which means that it was sent by someone from my country.

Now you all understand this scambaiting thing better than I do, but it seems that this presents a oportunity to bring someone to legitimate justice (jail, in other words). Obviously, the cell number isn't much to go on, as it is probably prepaid and a dead lead, so someone would need to bait the guy through the email address he's provided to get something convicting out of him. If anyone is interested, it might help to have a local "insider" if it ever comes down to dealing with the police.

What do you all think? Anyone interested to take on the bait and (hopefully) get an arrest made? I'm offering any local help that you feel you might need.

It was an text message sent to me from a local number:

"Greetings. I am Steve Shoobert Fabian, manager NW Bank Plc, london i seek your assistance for the transfer of 12.5 Million. Write me on [email protected]"

Be aware that it is possible to spoof the id on an SMS (text) message...there are commercial services that do this...

That's a good point, but it seems like a lot of effort. If that's what he did, then I guess he's got access to phished card details.

Possibly the SMS message has a spoofed sender, or is sent from a stolen or cloned SIM, or any of the web-to-text services there are out there. I think you need to get some emails going and ind out where this geezer really is.
