I'm currently working on the newest issue of my school's magazine (it's a magazine that's made by students) and I'm planning to write an article on 419 scams and scam baiting. Could you suggest a few things that just *have* to be in that to-be-awesome article? And maybe link to a few userful information sources? Very Happy

Some stuff from the main eater site? The Church of the Painted Breast is what got me to start baiting in the first place, I still aspire to that kind of awesomeness....

As for information sources, I believe there is something about that on the main site, and otherwise you might want to look at scamwarners a bit, they're bound to have some good information.

If you are after information about scams, have a look in Scamwarners, we have pages of scam descriptions in there, covering all the known and common ones, as well as the off beat oddball.

Information would be preferable, rather than an article about baiting, put Eater in there somewhere, but information first.

^^^ and the hacking of emails, as well as FaceBook and other similar networking sites. And romance scams. Focus on scams that students are likely to fall for.

hi, facebook /mail adress of course, and the fake offers on fake sites, like cheap mobile phones, ipods etc. which never will be shipped after payment.
and also the craiglists-scams, with the overpaiment + return by WU modality, the job offers aka cheque-mule
motto: if it sounds tooo good to be true, then ....

Do take a look through the stickies first and then maybe Eater University if it´s not too long for you. We tried in 2008 to set up a kind of scambaiting school and I think most topics have been covered ever since Smile
