This website [url]800notes.com[/url] lists phone numbers that have called people and tried to scam them. Phone scams. Take a look and see what you think...
Wonder if we could turn these people against our scammers?
I know we can't/shouldn't use information from real people/places.. but the phones belong to scammers.. so they aren't really people...
Thoughts on this? |

Probably not our core audience - we tend to look at 419 email scams (advance fee fraud), and there's not a huge amount we can do about boiler room share pump and dump scams...unless you know otherwise? |

Hell, why not try? I'm not sure where you'd start, but using scammer A to waste Scammer B's time at scammer A's expense is a tried and trusted technique - if you can get Nigerian scammer mobile numbers onto those companies lists, well it will slow both parties up! |

When a lad asks for your phone number, you could always give them a number off that site.
I wonder how long it would take before he realised he wasn't talking to you. |

That pretty much sums it up. Not that having lads call these numbers is so much as a breach of innocent third parties, but it won't upset or disrupt the day-to-day operations of the type of scams we tackle.
That why we use online message services, VOIP related software or bait phones. We keep it all in-house and avoid harassing the general public. |
