Anyone know where i can find scam routines. Im kind new here and im still learning; i feel it would be easier if i had a routine to follow. I really want to get my first trophy soon.

Your best bet is to do the following:

1. Read the stickies, especially the ones in the Help forum
2. Take a stroll through Eater University. This is an outstanding resource for new baiters.
3. If you want personal assistance, request a mentor in the Mentor thread in the Help forum.

Yes, Nurse Nasty is a treasure trove of help and information. Infact, NN helped me with my self-esteem problem. I now understand that I am worthless and lucky that my lads even take the time to respond. NN is not only the Google of Eater but also the Dr Phil.

@ tyler - If you're looking to teach your lad a lesson in humility by sharing his image with the internet, we have a plethora of routines and experienced baiters who are capable of helping you getting him hooked.

The convincing will have to come from you, but we can help with ideas and convince your scammer that it's perfectly normal to burn his underwear before serious business can be discussed. Depending on your modality you could get lucky and get him dressed in a sheep outfit in a few weeks, but most take months of nurturing. Think of it as fighting 419 crime with creativity. It takes quite a bit of effort at first, but once you've perfected a particular routine you can recycle it on other scammers. Plus it's a colossal time wasting venture for your lad, which is the goal of baiting.

Plus never bait with the expectation that you'll get a trophy. Just keep that option open while you carry him along, and one day he'll present you with the opportunity to take advantage of his enthusiasm.

my advice to you is take it slowly, and don't aim too high at first.
avoiding your first demand for id and phone number doesn't sound much to an experienced baiter,
but i remember the sense of achievement i had.
then you can get a lad to make a wasted trip to western union (or several).
then you get him to give you bank accounts which you can report to the authorities.

it's a bit like being in a forest - there are so many paths to try that you'll end up dropping one and starting on a new path because it looks more exciting!

Scambaiting is one of those areas where plagiarizing others' work is welcome and can be extremely rewarding. But it can also be frustrating if you start out that way. This is because many of the best published baits are derived from numerous failed efforts and dead ends that will never appear as published baits. For example, some "trophy" baits come from the one lad who followed a bait through, vs hundreds or even thousands who didn't go along with a baiter's initial approach and subsequent messages setting the scene. Many experienced baiters have also gradually developed knowledge of "scammer psychology" and taken approaches that match well with their own personality in convincing the scammers to go along with a bait, all of which develop over time and through trial and error. This is much more of an art than a science - getting past certain tricky parts in any bait is a hard thing to do, and there are probably as many approaches as there are baiters. This is why you're getting some cynical responses about your quest for quick trophies - they don't tend to come so easily.

Anyway, if you're looking for a particular kind of trophy, there's no harm in trying it out, whether you start with someone else's bait format, or create one of your own. who knows, maybe you'll come up with something new that people will be plagiarizing for years to come Smile

One different philosophy of beginning baiting is to try and get a scammer talking - about anything on earth besides the "deal". This is very easy to try, even if you've never baited before, and you can get immediate satisfaction as soon as the scammer starts saying anything about your topic of interest (it proves you've been able to manipulate the lad into doing what you want, albeit subtly at first. And you can often get some funny lad quotes).
