At a bare minimum, I'll bet you don't get a dime at the end of that "trial period."

I've not seen this before, but my spidey senses tell me it's headed for some sort of check scam.

I don't think they'll actually pay anything, I think this is the scammer's way of getting their scripts written. Could be useful for a bit of de-education.

Found this description on Yahoo Answers when I searched for dating.ru scams:

hmmm...Information about money being transferred...shady credit card activities...

Looks like a nice mix of scams to me, actually. One appears to be check mule, one appears to be visa service (running along the same lines as translation scams, maybe, as in "you need to pay the visa service to bring your Russian girlfriend over", and a couple appear to be correspondence with web designers (who they must be trying to scam, or they would just write to them in the same poor English).

Looks to me like they are sending out 'corrected' text to victims and making it look like it came from the 'editor' in the USA.. Probably spoofing U.S.A. editor Email address to make themselves look more legit..

I sent in my first set of 'corrected' text this morning and have just got this reply back

My corrected texts were so heavily multi-babled that they were virtually unreadable in places. I also changed a couple of places where it said 'this is not a scam' to say 'this is a scam'.

I'm looking forward to receiving my next set of text.

They seem to be very happy with my editing skills, despite the fact that the returned texts are virtually unreadable and have scamwarnings hidden in them.

I think these may be the same guys I dealt with 1 1/2 years ago. Check scam - long in the making. Dating Team. Mostly gmail addies and bigpond addie. Got some very high quality W3lls Frago checks. Vlads. I spoke to a couple of them. Very cautious.
