I got a funny new "trunk box story":
Quote: |
Dear
Dear Sir,
My name is Jones XXXXXX.
I am a Liberian. I just arrived at Nevada Las Vegas from Liberia with three
consignment boxes containing spend able cash which I intend to invest here in
the United States in any good business venture of my choice. I have
successfully secured the consignments in my hotel room at Hannton Inn here in
Nevada Las Vegas and I really am in need of a final beneficiary that will act
as my guardian who will assist me in achieving this dream
I am presently in my hotel room with the boxes but I do not have the keys to
open the boxes as I lost the keys in the process of transporting the
consignments from Liberia to the United States of America. I need your help in
opening the box as I do not have the financial ability to buy a master
key from
the designer of the consignments that has a branch office here in the US.
Please get back to me with a response and let me know if you can be able to
assist me financially in purchasing the master key that will open the boxes so
that I can be able to access the funds contained in the boxes to achieve my
dreams of living the American dream.
The amount contained in the three trunk boxes is $9 Million Dollars
all in $100
note bills clean and spend able.
Here is my telephone number to my room XXXXXXX.
I look forward to your response.
Yours truly,
Jones XXXXXX |
My answer:

Dear Mr. XXXXXX,
unfortunately I don't have much money left to help you out with buying the
master key. However, I have a construction company here in Los Angeles/CA, which
isn't too far from Las Vegas. I have pretty good jackhammer tools here and I
think we could open up the boxes without the master key with these hammers.
What do you think? Wanna give it a try?
Yours
B. XXXXX |
Lad's answer:

Dear B. XXXXX,
Thanks for your response to my mail.
There is a security device attched to the locks on the trunk boxes that will activate a trigger mechanism which will cause an explosion if the trunk cases are forcibly opened. Using the jackhammers will be advisable on these consignments. It took me a great deal of strategy, money, time and stress to be able to get the boxes to the United States so I will not agree to your advise.
The cost of the master key is $800. I can get it from the manufacturuers in Ohio. I have already specified the model number of the boxes to them and ine of the keys is readily availble now. I just need to make the payment for the purchase and courier of the master key to my present position.
Can you credit this amount into my credit card?
Yours truly,
Jones XXXXXX |
Hm. That's really dangerous for Sin City, isn't it? Whatever - we'll find a solution.... My answer:
Quote: |
Dear Mr. XXXXXXX,
thanks for your email.
Well, this is really sad that these boxes have an explosion mechanism in them. In that case, you are right, using my jackhammers would be really dangerous. Maybe we could convince some guy to do it for us in a seperate room, wait until the explosion takes place and after that, pick up all the money?
How about picking up one of these Mexican illegal aliens waiting for work at the highway? Of course we shouldn't tell him about the explosives, and I'm sure such a guy would do it for about $50.
Let me know what you think, I could go to Las Vegas with the $50 on saturday.
Yours
B. XXXXX |
Let's see what he thinks about that idea. |

If I was baiting him, I'd find the $800 somehow, and wire it to the locks company to.speed things up. If he can't get at his cash, see if he's ok paying his hotel bill too - I'm sure you could help out somehow.
Can he fax you the crate details? Faxes are expensive and inconvenient, yet quite reasonable to expect a hotel to have fax facilities |

Awww, that sounds like such a fun lad! I am jealous... I wonder if the three original boxes were keyed alike, or if he will need three "special" keys at $800 each...
Don't tip him off, keep him for a long time. Tell him you put some "entertainment" on our Credit Card so he can pass the time until the (inevitable) courier arrives. I hear that the Crazy Horse Review is loads of fun.
Maybe he could meet you in Primm or Mesquite (both about the same distance away from LV). Maybe going to one of the area sights could be fun too. Radiator Springs, or any of these Notable locations:
Myers Ranch
Emigrant Ranger Station
Mushroom Rock
Father Crowley Viewpoint
Ryan Widow
Russell Camp
Furnace Creek Campground
Furnace Creek Golf Course
Furnace Creek Inn
Furnace Creek Ranch
Wilson Ranch
Wildrose Ranger Station
Grapevine Ranger Station
West Side Borax Camp
Harmony Borax Works
Hells Gate
Hog Ranch
Lower Noonday Camp
Upper Noonday Camp
I would wager that if you got the lad to go here the Mods would let you put a in your siggy line. If not, I would pay your premium membership for a year!
It could make for some interesting dialogue and your lad oulc get some tips from the Chad Lads...

Thanks for your thoughts. I'm still thinking what to do - but you're right, a nice trip to Death Valley, Bryce Canyon or another location "nearby" could be cool. Meanwhile, he wrote me that he feels sympathy for the "poor Mexicans"...
Quote: |
Dear B. XXXX,
Endangering the life of a Mexician is totally out of the question. Please let me know if you can be able to arrange the $800 needed for the master key. If not then how much can you arrange.
Let me read back from you.
Jones XXXX. |
I'll let him steam some time, thinking about what I could do with this guy. |

What if you got a Mexican who had been infected with Swine Flu, so he was going to die anyway? That wouldn't be endangering so much as taking advantage of their untimely demise |
