I noticed that there were a lot of guests on the site this morning. Was there a news story or something were Eater was mentioned? |

I'm sorry to be a wet blanket, but I think this is nasty and immoral. Scamming isn't right, obviously, and the baiters' stories are admittedly often funny, but let's get real. The scam baiters are well-off Westerners (even if they happen to be poor, by global standards, they're relatively well-off). The scammers themselves are from the developing world, and they're just trying to make a living--in an awful way, to be sure. |

I also noted an increased number of visitors to Scamwarners, great news, the more we get the word out, the better.
As to the undecided lad hugger;
If he or anybody else thinks baiting is immoral, vist Scamwarners, read some of the victim accounts, get to know exactly how much damage these heartless thieves cause, think about a young woman, very little money who thinks she has met the man of her dreams, they stay in touch with phone calls and emails for months when suddenly he has a health issue that requires urgent medical treatment, if his one true love cant send money for the operation, he will die.
The young woman is not wealthy, full time student and her parents are not either but realise the importance of setting up their little girl for the future.
The families life savings invested in their daughters education, the scammer knows this but the girl in love, sends the money, the scammer assures her he will pay her back but first needs more money, she sends it again and again until she decides to check it out.
She finds information posted by a baiter here and realisess that she has been scammed.
How would you feel?
I could tell another 100 stories that are etched into my mind that are as sad as this one of people I have personally dealt with
Does anybody still want to have an ethics debate? |
