After retiring from work due to ill health I decided I should get out more to avoid my only reality becoming the insanity of baiting - and as I'd seen more of the Himalayas than England I decided to visit those strange and wonderful places most foreign tourists would miss in the UK.

Last Friday I visited Powis Castle in Wales in sunshine too Very Happy

There is circumstantial genealogical evidence that I'm 25% Welsh and the English built this castle to subjugate my people. I'm an oppressed minority. Sad

I went artistic

A panorama that worked - except for the pink blob on the bottom left corner that ISN'T my thumb. Twisted Evil

Today I went south of London, and people from my part of England consider London to be Satan's armpit, and the thought of even going near there requires us to obtain a church blessing first. Then there's the M25 motorway Shocked

and I get lost going upstairs at home.

Well - to my surprise I went under the Thames one way (the Dartford Tunnel) and over it the other way (the Queen Elizabeth Bridge) and I was much impressed by the bridge (I told you I should get out more) - not my photo as I'm sure they'd frown on a yokel stopping on the bridge.

I went to Igtham Mote and I found that, not only can't I pronounce Welsh, but my English appears faulty too. I also took a picture of England's only Grade 1 listed dog kennel - honestly.

That bridge is rubbish and I'm not saying that because it's English and I'm - ummm - one of your 25% oppressed relative so therefore a smidgen biased.

It's certainly worth the quid to drive over the bridge and get out of Essex. The class of Kentish totty at Bluewater* is way above the rough and ready Essex (mostly single mother) slags you get at Lakeside* .... Smile

The nicest bridge I've been over lately was the new Clackmannanshire Bridge. Not too high ( I dont like heights ) ( or chicken in any form but thats an aside )
There was a glorious sunset reflected in the flat waters of the Forth; but I couldn't stop and didnt have my camera anyway
