New toll-free phone number for abuse

Just got this in my box. I haven't called it but I believe this is another one of those toll-free numbers that cost a lad a pretty penny to operate. If it's what I think it is, it's wide open for abuse.

Great find SSA. A 866 number will cost the scammer to receive the call and cost him to originally set it up. It would be terrible if baiters called the number to ask if a swift code was like the 24 hour flu.

*Safety note on toll free numbers. Even if you have "Caller ID Block" your number is transmitted to the 866 number holder. Calling from a pay phone actually costs him up to 3x more than from a normal phone. The area that the number will receive from is set up by the scammer initially.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but if a baiter were to find a payphone, here is another number to someone higher up on the food chain. I called just a second ago, got a redirect. It should cost the scammer even more.

So what if you send these phone numbers to scammers that want your phone number to talk to you at once..

For example from Russia?

I don't think these toll free numbers work outside the United States and Canada. Its possible to set up a regional toll free number that receives calls from only the same state but I am sure that the scammer would set up the national plan.

I called 866-206-9308 (J. Dimon) and the number was not in service.

I called 888-661-4911 (M. Brown) and left some voice mail.

Has anyone else called?

The hell with the numbers, I'm just laughing my ass off at the letter that came with it. My co-workers know I bait, so tomorrow they'll have a good laugh when I show it to them. Heck maybe we'll make some crank calls from my anonymous cell while we're at it.

I called 888-661-4911, and asked for a pepperoni pizza. He said, "Oh, is that what you want?" and then hung up.

I called 888-661-4911 and had a delightful conversation with "Mike Brown". I pretended I was calling for a "Mike Hunt". It took him a few minutes to explain I was looking for the wrong Mike. He was suprisingly pleasant about it, but he is surely a lad. However, his spoken English was much better than I am accustomed to.

Interesting timing.... I read this thread yesterday and then, voila, what shows up in my inbox today? A toll-free number from a lad. Feel free to give PATRICK LOUIS (Funds manager) a call at 1-866-989-5559 ext.8 and ask him about the $25,000 usd.

I will, too, as soon as I find a payphone near me.

btw (412) 208-4357 is a Land Line number and the provider is MCImetro, Ats
and is located in Pittsburgh, PA. However, the number is unpublished, so I have no further info to pass-on.

Anyone else wish to list a toll-free number being used by scammers or a USA-based number?
