Hello all,
I have a slightly different bait going as I have a online business and constantly get barraged with people wanting to send me checks over the amount I charge and have me cash them and wire money back. Anyway, I was surprised to see that some of the checks being sent to my fake addresses via UPS are originating in the U.S. Is this normal? Are they actually in the U.S. working with someone? Overnite UPS nonetheless, gotta love that waste of money!

Yes, some do originate in the US while many come from Canada. Many times the lads use "mules" or people that think they are working for the lad to earn a percentage of the money.

While having the lads waste their money sending the checks to a fake address is nice, if they are contacting you through your business I wouldn't do that since it will tie back to you w/ real life information.

I have recently received American money orders from a scammer.
I had help from a fellow baiter here reporting all the information to scamwarners.

(Thanx harvest moon)

How did you actually get them? Do you have a P.O. box?

O2 deprived ,thx for the info. The contact was made through craigslist so it was sent to me by a generic email address. I then copied and pasted the email sent into another email account I have set up and started from there. He never even new the difference. I think he has many scams going and I am but one although I am particularly deranged Smile

The 'going rate' for printing and mailing out cheques/money orders is $1000/month as a "work from home" job. Probably paid by fake cheque. You have to wonder why they don't make it $1,000/week, or $100,000/day, for the difference it'll make.

I've always wondered why they do that or why they often refuse to negotiate interest on a "loan".

It's not like it's real money.

One of life's unsolved mysteries, and one that's been debated on Eater several times. The consensus is that on some level, lads believe their own scams are genuine.
If you want more than 20% (or whatever) of a dying widow's stash, she'll argue as well.
I've just expressed interest in a job offering $125,000 pa. But a somewhat disappointing annual vacation of only 2 weeks. I'm going to ask for four weeks, but I don't really expect to get it.
I'm also an 11 year old girl, but the lad hasn't asked for my age yet.
