I've read a number of times that in Nigeria belief in witchcraft and black magic is still very strong.

A couple of months ago there was a story about how Nigerian police were holding a goat in custody, because a vigilante crew had arrested this goat on suspicion of being a car thief who transformed himself into an animal in order to escape justice.

If they believe in witches so much, this opens up a whole world of possibilities for new scambaits. You can send in a picture of Marilyn Manson, or some random goth maybe, as yourself, claiming to be a high ranking witch or warlock of some kind.

This could then be used either as a great angle for procuring some really odd trophy pics, or maybe you could even use it to threaten them with various curses and hexes as punishment for their treachery, unless they compensate you somehow.

I'm a bit too busy to get into another scam baiting session right now, but has anyone tried this angle yet? How did it go? Smile

A few years ago it was quite popular to send various images of their feared icons to invoke a response. It would certainly annoy and rattle them and others just cursed you, which was always entertaining.

Oh, good. Well I don't have time to embark on a full length scam baiting campaign at the moment, are there any pics or specific Nigerian curses I could quickly send off to the next Lad I cross paths with (i.e. when I log in to my Yahoo Mail address, which gets numerous emails a day)

Another idea that I stole from SirScamAlot was to tell a few lads that I had placed their names on the Okigi Shrine.

Using witchcraft or voodoo themed modalities has been around for awhile.

Some of the lads buy into it quite easily, while others don't. Kinda hit or miss.

African Mythology and shamanism is a bit of a pastime of mine. If you want to scare the crap out of a South African then mention the Tokolosh or tokolosi. There is also the Chitauli - reminiscent of David Icke's reptoid people - but I'm not sure which cultures and countries would recognize this term. By the way most Africans have an almost supernatural fear of snakes.

I'm afraid of snakes, too. Not all of them, though. Just the kinds that can either squeeze me to death or the poisonous kind.

The whole death thing puts me off.

Hmm...... I'm very interested in getting myself some exotic poisonous African snakes, as there's collectors here in the west that pay very hansomely for rare snakes. For the right price do you think there's a lad or two that might be able to oblige??? Though, they'd have to prove their snakehandling skills first, as we don't want damaged goods due to mishandling Laughing

For the right price they do just about anything. For one bait I was a hedgehog dealer in the black market. My lad was ready to catch every hedgehog in Burkina Faso at $500 a piece. Or at least so he claimed.
