I am going to South Africa IRL

Can I get anyone something that would help with your baits?

I am thinking pictures of Airports, busses or anything to add weight to your bait.

I leave in 2 weeks

Hang out at the airport with your camera and see if you can find any lads waiting around holding signs with absurd messages on them. Very Happy

Hmmm...if we could get a bunch of baiters to get their South African lads to go to the airport to pick up their baiting characters, holding signs with their names on them, expecting their vics to arrive on your flight, then maybe you could take some photos of the lads with the signs? It would make great trophies! Many of us have had lads make airport-pickup trips, and we find out about it later (when the lad writes back all pissed off that we weren't there) but we have no tangible proof. Photos of the lads with the signs would be awesome!

Anyone else wanna do this? Could be fun! I'll have to go through my lad list and see if I've got any from SA.

What would be really useful is some pictures of local Western Union / Moneygram outlets or branches of Rennies Bank (the lads like those for cash transfers) - might come in handy for dolla chops.

Or maybe some legitimate banks and their cross-streets with maybe a small description of the surroundings.

IF you end up using a cyber-cafe, maybe get the name of the owner/operator as well. Very Happy

@scsiguy - Sleepless and myself are currently seeking a Jo'burg boy willing to take a safari to the new SSC in Mozambique.

Your timing might be a bit too soon for us, but we'll keep you posted....

Anyway. sounds like a great trip you are taking. I am jealous.

maybe a picture or three of local cafe's near the airport - to show the lad "this is the spot I am at" for safari baits...

Yeah, lots of "this is where I am pictures" could be put to good use.

For instance:

Arrival gate at the airport (or any airport pics. with & without the name).
A stall in an open air market.
A WU pick up/drop off. A bank.
Any embassy, if you happen to pass by one where our diplomat friends live.

Or any unique to that area places that inexperienced photoshop people (like me) can't find on the internet to alter.

So nice of you to offer to do this. I bet you'll get a ton of ideas while there.

Copies of (blank) hotel stationery, local WU/MG forms if you can get them (to scan in and post here to use as proof of visiting SA if needs be)...
