I gotta admit that I don't see it as any better than the vast majority of fantasy art that's out there. There's nothing there that would cause me to do a double take as I walk past it in a gallery. About the only thing that differentiates it from the masses is it's 1920s style. I'm also wary of artists who write a back story for their work as well - the picture should be able to stand on it's own without the need for an explanation of it's contents (humourous or not).
To be brutally honest - I find the pictures in the link to be very average. Skillful in execution but bland in content. |
