...and 500th post!

It's been a hell of an interesting 5 years. Although I wouldn't change the way things have turned out, I do wish I had been able to bait a little more consistently.

That said, the ups have been pretty remarkable. My favourite photos, from near the beginning, of Mr John Smith, scammer esquire, waiting on the Kalverstraat for Jen:

The times I acted as a scammer's oga, the de-educations, the phone baits, the deaded websites, all the calls to my Integrated Customer Service Call Centre (especially the 25 minute call from Nigeria on Friday!)... Great memories all.

Here's to an even better five eaterversaries to come!

I would like to say; 5 years and only 501 posts? that's one post ever 3.6 days. i can see room for improvement.

maybe on the 10 year anniversary you could try to exceed Scam Patrollers post count?

Thanks for all the good wishes, everyone. It's been a hell of a go. Extended work absences have made it difficult at times, but I often thought I was postwhoring... Embarassed

Unfortunately I lost contact with "John Smith". He was a real treat.

@SlapHappy:
He told me he lived in Amsterdam, so since Jen had business to conduct there, she agreed to meet him... under this webcam. That was the seventh time he showed up there. Jen kept telling him she had been there, and would describe people who were there at the same time, so he believed that she just couldn't recognize him. Eventually he agreed to come dressed all in red. He looks a little bit like a traffic cone, if you ask me.

I keep looking for another Amsterdam-based scammer to pull this on again. No luck so far.
