I'm looking for about 100 or more pages of Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese text. Been looking around for about a hour with no luck. Any kind of text will do, a book, legal papers, anything..... I want to see if one of my lads can copy some Asian text for me. Any help would be greatly appreciated, all I need is just a point in the right direction.

Japanese and Chinese would probably be more fun because they use completely unfamiliar character-based alphabets which would totally baffle the Lad.

But if you want to start him off easy, there is plenty of Vietnamese text at the VietLaw site which has acres of legal text.

Note: You need to use fonts which can display Vietnamese diacritics correctly - either one of the VNI fonts, or Verdana should do it. You may have to do a bit of tweaking (ensuring it is a UTF-8 or UTF-16 doc) to get them to display right.

It should look something like this: "Thông tư quy định một số nội dung về cấp giấy chứng nhận quyền.." and getting any of the diacritics and tone markers wrong, completely changes the meaning, you might tell your Lad... Wink

I'm guessing that I need to enable or download some type of plug in in order to see the Japanese text because I'm just seeing boxes with numbers inside of them. But on a side note, I think the Vietnamese and Arabic text would work equally as well or maybe even Hebrew.

I think I just found what language that I will use, Thai looks very promising. Below is a fresh 419 letter from my mailbox that I translated. I will just need to take out the few english words and symbols of course. I think starting out with 50 pages of this kind of text will be a good start.
