MTCN number???

what can i put as this number / how long is it and does it contain numbers and letters!!

The MTCN always consists of numerals.

I can never remember if WU is 8 digits and MoneyGram 10, or if it's the other way around.....so to be on the safe side I always send the lad a 9 digit number.

Hey, how about letting your lad explain the whole to you? They know this by heart, it's what keeps them scamming after all Razz

(WU is 10 digits, MG is 8.) Oh, warning, you can check MTCNs online, with name (@ WU site), so find an excuse why it's not yet on... Or just send em a garbled .dll renamed to .txt which should keep em busy for the moment Razz

After they've gone to the trouble of explaining about the MTCNs, you could always tell them that you went to the WU website and found that the MTCN isn't needed for pickup, so they can do and collect the money now...

I tried that and he wasnt listening so I got him to call my "accountant" who told him as long has he knew the secret question and answer it was ok!

after 3 ten minute phone calls i told him my office was closing and to ring back tuesday as i am in spain buying a 300,000 gbp apartment hahaha Laughing

I suggest sending one to yourself first and testing how it works.

It really wastes their computer time - and if they complain - explain that the WU officer told you that your state went to that method by law due to all the fraud and the entire US is going to that method by years end.

And stick to that story - Money Gram (which is an option from that tool) also has gone to that format, since it's state law now...

If they stick to it - it takes around 200 boxes to click and they get a 7 digit number with the message that the last 3 numbers will arrive by e-mail (which never comes)

Or you can click the "frustrate your lad" box and they never get to the end.

And if they want you to send it through the online site - just tell them you don't have a credit or debit card, that you strictly deal with cash and checks since someone fraudulently used your numbers before or something like that...
