Here's what I got in an email. Something seems MIGHTY fishy about this. Here's the deal. Once you pay them 39.99, they will then issue you a NEW number (other than your social security number) which you will use on credit applications in place of your social. Not only that, the new number will have already been 'doctored up' so that it looks like you have OUTSTANDING CREDIT. You can edit the 'showing credit' under that issued number which will allow you to show that you have paid for this and that, made payments on time, paid the balance... and so on.

As interested as I seem to be, since I can't wait to get out of debt (WHO DOESN'T, RIGHT?) Even if they really did what they say they do, since a user would essentially be attempting to obtain money and/or credit using false information, I would expect that this would be considered fraud, which is illegal. A quick search of Google shows numerous cases involving fines and/or jail time for falsifying loan applications.

So how would one go about baiting in this scenario? I'm not gonna, but I am curious as to what a seasoned baiter would/should/could do in this case.

I'd question everything, like "How much paperwork must be filled out?" and "Will my boss know" and "Will I need a new credit card?"

You can get your own EIN for free.

The problem is that EIN's use numbers which are invalid for SSNs. Many credit companies will verify that a SSN is valid before issuing credit - if the EIN is used, it fails the test and you're SOL.

Also, to get an EIN, you need to follow IRS rules.

I went to this website and did what they said. In about a month I had a new credit file with a credit score of around 645 and I got a credit card with a low limit of $500. But it did work. Once I was a client, I was able to talk to people in the company, but before that I couldn't talk to anyone. They seem to be legit. It is not illegal. It is the same method that doctors and lawyers use to establish another credit file in their own name, but it can only be done once in your lifetime so I am trying hard not to screw it up again.

No, it is not my website.... I went to igoogle.com, my start page and typed in excellent credit in 15 days since I couldn't remember the exact url to see if they had anythng new to offer, and I saw this website talking about the same thing. I really don't care if you think it is a scam or not, but I started typing a response to someone's blog question and since I had used it before, I thought I would respond to help out but it made me choose a username and a passcode to post it.

It seems mighty funny that people are allowed to say bad things about things even if they have never even used the product. But I can see now that this blog is only for people who just want to sit around and complain about things and call people scams and just are basically negative about life. I think you people should grow up and get a life.

I made the mistake of responding to your question and now I can see that all you want to do is pull me into this downward spiraling toilet bowl of negative energy. Not interested, and I really don't have the time. I will never post on this blog again, and I do not want to be a part of this gang of vigilantes that the welcome email wrote about.

That post piqued my curiosity, so I tried the exact same igoogle search (pasted straight from the poster's email). This board didn't come up in the first 6 pages. I then tried changing quotes/caps, no dice--eater was nowhere on the list.

When I google the website itself (without the http portion) just as I (and most site owners) do periodically to check on my own website, this board was on the first page.
