Maybe you'll don't care, but I just wanted to let you know that I'll be at the Metallica's gig tonight!

They didn't come in a concert hall since 5 years here in Belgium.
Though, they came several times the past years in festivals.
I saw them 3 times in Werchter festival, but it's the first time in a hall.
I'm excited like a little girl on Christmas' eve.

The 15000 tickets were sold in approx. 10 minutes, and I managed to get 4 Cool

. Tickets sold in 50 minutes but only because the website couldn't handle the amount of visitors.

I saw them closing the 2003 Reading festival right after SOAD. The pits were immense.

I'm sure it was awesome. Actually awesome, not just "awesome there's a sale of broken biscuits." awesome.

Well I was full of "aw its all over too soon!"

Newdonym i jealous you saw SOAD as well !

Serj was playing last years Reading but the sound system was awful and we couldn't hear his set. Youngest down at the stage front heard it ok tho'

I've not long heard my 2 eldest have aquired Metallica tickets, one has managed to get the other them as as a birthday present.
( they used to fight, niggle and bash each other, now they're going to gigs together! )

The show was really great!
The new album is off course the center point, but the old good stuff is still there.
It lasted almost 2 and a half hour, with fireworks, laser lights, and a central stage! Right in the middle of the hall!

They played Trun The Page, I love this song and I couldn't remember them playing it live. Great surprise Very Happy

Some clasics missing off course, like Battery or Creeping Death, but they cannot play everything...

The bad point was the fight that occured right in the entrance hall after the gig. A friend of my brother was not feeling too good (agoraphobia...) so I gently pushed the guy on my right to make her some fresh air. He didn't like it and punched me right in the face. He almost missed me, but his second hit was for my fiancee. Broken nose Sad

This m*therf*cker and his friends off course were out while I brought her to the infirmary.
I go to a lot of concerts (approx. 2 times a month), and much more violent that Metallica (the last one was Cannibal Corpse...), and I frequently see skinheads that only search to fight, but nothing ever happened.
This time, for once, she was with me and here is how it finished...
I wonder why people like that go to social events...

Well, she'll be in surgery monday to fix it, she seems quite OK, but it tarnished the rest of the evening.

Good luck with the broken nose, poor lass
If its any consolation my youngest broke his nose a wee while back ( trampoline, several teenagers , need I say more? )
He needed a bit surgery but its fine now.
Get her some Arnica for the bruising

The crush of the crowd was so great at Reading that my eldest's then boyfriend was concerned and signaled security, they lifted her over the barrier, she tried to resist not wanting to miss the set!

I was in my usual place, way back, sitting in my campchair, watching the coats.
( yes I get stressed in crowds too )( and lifts )( and boats )( and airplanes )

Yup, confirmed, my eldest 2 going to Glasgow to see Metallica later this month. Got a feeling they will want use of my car
