Hola folks Smile

I've been baiting this one scammer for a while now, and now another person has joined the bait. There's quite a few things that scream that this other person is a lad, but there is still doubt in my mind, since he's not doing any of the usual lad things.

If anyone would be willing to help me figure out if this guy is a lad or not, can you please PM me?

Thank you

Where does the second email (IP) originate? You can post the contents, but leave the address out.

Could you post some details up here so the Eater "hive mind" can come up with ideas? You can remove names if you're anxious for your bait.

My guess is this - if the lad introduced a character it is with the aim of making you pay, so treat them as another lad. Lads don't like vics talking as the lads lose control. The noteable exception is cheque lads who have to rely on it - but they try to segregate vics as much as possible

As far as I can tell, his IP resolved to Port Harcourt in Nigeria. This is from the most recent email he sent me a day ago.

This is one of the emails from his main character.
I think this one also resolves to Port Harcourt.

----------

His second character was introduced to me as an ASEM. He uses the same name as a character from a baiter here (flag one). His IP is nearly the same (flag 2). He claims to be from Luxembourg, with that IP (flag 3). I just figured that he was there in order for me to think that this deal was real. After all, how can it not be real when there's someone else having to go through the process. His wife is a banker, and everything is legitimate (flag 4). But, even after the main character has fallen by the wayside, I'm still in contact with this second one. We've done nothing but chat, he's accepted my explanation that the other man was a scammer according to my friend. He even asked me for more details! Now he's saying that he's forwarded all the details to his security people. I've asked him if he wants me to pass on the details that I have (in case I'm about to be hit with a Money Recovery Scam, which would ease my mind), but so far, nothing.

I've been worried about this guy for a while now, there just seems to be lots of flags to indicate that he is a scammer, but I'm just not 100% sure. I'd hate to think that I was baiting an innocent.

Edited for more details.

It looks like this lad is setting you up for something. Play it out and see where it goes. Ignore the emails for a few days and see if they contact you again.

If you still have doubts, block the email account and move on.

Keep chatting amicably as you are, if you're lucky you've made a friend with a vivid imagination, but more likely it's the scammer trying to soften you to try a fresh angle. Maybe discuss Luxembourg with your new friend, maybe visit Luxembourg this Friday on your way to *blah* and offer to meet up for a beer? Discuss where he goes on holiday (try to steer him into claiming familiarity with somewhere you know - eg Cannes, Barcelona or Munich) as of course he'll be familiar with the local area. When was he last in London?

I'm certain you've got a lads character here - a convincer for the deal who just happened to drop into your life at the critical moment, so he should have fun squirming with the questions above Smile

Thank you so much, both of you, for your advice Smile

It's eased my mind anyway, so I'll take it slow, and see where it goes.

Again, thank you. beers!

You can have a bit of fun by getting the "victim" to add you to YIM.

Of course, as he's genuine, he'll have no problem with adding you and chatting to you will he? Twisted Evil
