Hi Folks,

Got a few guys on the hook at the moment. I'm a first time caller, long time listener. I've got the fake ID, email, address, working fax and voicemail...

But, I'm wondering, how do I take it further? Do I just excerise patience, and wait for the big catch? Or is there something else I can be doing?

Anyway, thanks to the creators of this site, got me hooked. I'm 2 days in, 1 call and 1 fax pulled, but wanting to elevate myself to the level of the posters who take their mugus on safari.

Any suggestions?

The best thing you can do is read a lot here. Check the Scambaiting help forum sticky topics, there is a FAQ's sticky and this: New To Baiting and Waiting for a Mentor?, which is full of information to help you out.

Also, please do not send fake ID's to lads. Lads recycle everything and we don't want to give them any tools to use on victims. Even if you make one that you think looks really silly, if it will fool a lad, it could fool a victim.

Thanks for your concern, it's appreciated. Don't worry though, I'm keeping it safe, and have created myself a whole new (unidentifiable) persona. I wouldn't give these dudes an inch, considering that the proverbial mile would be my head!

You got anything for me? Not to sound big headed, but anything advanced, that may require a little computer savvy would be appreciated.

I read the warning about sending fake ID's. I am caught between wanting a realistic ID to fool the cleverest of scammers, and realising that my ID may be used for nefarious purposes.

I am new to this game, and I not sure of the answer. I was pretty proud of my ID, and was thinking that something that took me 5 minutes to prepare via google and paint could not harm anyone.

I would put it to the forum, that if the ID's I have received from the scammers (obvious PS jobs) can fool people, one should go ahead and use any means nessacery to pull the suckers in?

Of course, I could be wrong...As I said, I'm a newbie at this game.

Well im new to this game too but already really involved in a few baites.
What I basicaly did is just read everything I could around here,see a few of the completed and ongoing projects and just get involved.

The first and last rule is safety. Do not divulge anything personal.
I myself have about ten aliases I use,and they all have their own style and unique qualities,but they are completely seperate from me.

Be simple at first.Afterall the scammer wants to manipulate you.Go along with it,let him think he has you,but you know that you have him all the way Wink

Play dumb.Not everyone is computer savvy,and you'll soon annoy him by asking questions.Good! You are in control.

All in all just read up and have fun.....I am.

Anyway, I'm looking for a little more...I've read most of the stuff on the site, searched for all relevant info...

I guess I'm wanting to take it a little further. And again, don't worry about me, I'm not going to let these guys know anything that could endanger me.

Hey Jock, welcome to the forums.

If you're really computer savvy, another new member had a great idea for an old tool of ours. See HERE.

Regarding IDs; the main reason we don't send them is because there is no reason to send them. In the easiest case, you just don't respond to it and he doesn't bring it up. In the hardest case, you use one of the thousands of alternative methods to waste his time before he gives up asking.

I would also recommend trying a straight bait or two before trying for anything big. Whilst it is technically possible to get a safari on your first bait, it is very unlikely. Check out Eater-U for tips and tricks into all aspects of baiting.

Edit: well I typed that a bit slowly. I've thought of a better, more succinct reply. It sounds like you want to run before you can walk. It's not an impossible feat, but everybody I've seen do it seems to get stuck with a funny gait.

You would be surprised at the rubbish they use to scam real people. No matter how bad, someone may fall for it. We err on the side of safety.

Welcome!When I first joined here I was so proud of the fake ID I had manufactured.J0hn H0lmes,complete with a pic of the well known porn actor,and some of his qualifications.I was a little put off when I found that the rules here frowned on that.After being here a while,I did learn that no mattter how silly it may look to me,somewhere out there someone might fall for it.Like NN said,err on the side of safety.Believe me,there is plenty of safe havoc to wreak on the scum!

Same with me, although I still use it to an extent. Just resize it to about 50x20 pixels so it's unreadable, if the lad's actually bothered about receiving a proper ID you can drag it out longer using the brilliant DLL modality or by simply forgetting to attach it with this weird email technology.

Now, as for newbie tips, you get trophies and safaris by building up trust and flipping the balance of power in your relationship - it takes time and patience, and there's a heap of great work that goes on behind the scenes to get the headline-grabbing threads you see here. Oh come on...I meant it light heartedly, and with no bad feeling. My username is the chosen slur for my people...I don't mind it though...sticks and stones...anything is fair game in comedy.

I'll take anything about tight fisted scots, being drunk on dole day, or anything else...as will most Scots. Taking offence to a slur is a deep issue, usually not lying with the insulted.
