Ah, just wait for the lad hugging, sock and sandal lentil munchers to start on about her being stupid and easily conned.

I wouldn't have liked to be the one to tell her she's lost everything.

Bastard scum scammers

ps, do your avatar lights go into strobe mode when you get excited? Wink

There were a few less than kind remarks in the comments section.
A lot of more savvy folk dont realise that some of elderly tend to believe that if someone send a letter naming them, at their address means that they are known to them
Same with emails

as for my avatar. I dont know.
Want to try it out?

In that case send chocolate that'll get me excited Laughing

We can all physically do something about this.

Someone good at posters could design a leaflet, we as members could download and print it and post it through the doors of local pensioners in our areas. Also ask at pensioners homes and meeting places and churchs and doctors surgeries to display them too.

As much as I want to mangle the scum's gentilia, perhaps we can educate some potential victims.

Edit - Another thought - scamwarners web addy prominant.

Edit2 - Nanny dip the chocolate in Malt Islay for desired effect.

Or you could be like the Nigerian Ambassador to Queensland Australia who said that the victims were as much as fault as the scammers, because they are greedy and chasing easy money.

Of course it may not be the idea of vast sums of money that led the old dear to part with her cash
It may have been fear.
A few years before she died my mum got a 419 email
I found it hard to convince her that there is not some sort of email phone book out there where your name and address are listed.
She knew it was a scam, she knew it was illegal but it scared her.
She had visions them arriving on her doorstep if she didn't help out.
Imagine how much scarier it must be if they actually have your name and address
