Just above freezing here, at least the wind has died down.
There must be somehwere in the world comfortably warm without being too hot

Only 41C here tomorrow but it topped 43C today.

Oh yeah, the air-con compressor motor crapped out eight days ago....

Now I have the house sized sauna I always wanted Rolling Eyes

Sis made it up from Bristol
Said the worst bit was getting out her street into the main road.
Motorways quiet but clear, she's now staying outside Edinburgh at our mums old place, which has several inches of snow.
I was firing up the central heating when she arrived sooner than expected.
At least we can always add another layer of clothing or turn the thermostat up, much easier to deal with those having to cope with the tremendous heat in Oz

The passage of a cold front over Southern Oz has brought most welcome relief. Although Canberra residents are still expecting a maximum of 39C, they can look forward to more pleasant conditions soon.

We had about ten minutes of rain this morning, and right now it's almost cool - just 20 degrees.

And while I was checking this, I saw the Skycrane fire-fighting helicopter, the one nicknamed Elvis, fly overhead on an Eastern bearing. For them, there'll be no rest until the fires are dowsed.
