advance fee! You need to pay to get the loan, then pay a bit more, then pay a bit more, then you never hear of them again Sad

perfect, they can be fun if you get them to play along, cause to pay the fee you need to sell the boat first (and who buys a boat in winter?) they might have to wait a bit Twisted Evil

Then when they get restless and insist, trade the boat for a ski-do and a bike, was a good deal, but now you have to sell the bike of course Laughing

Try and beat him down. Point out that interest rates are dropping rapidly due the economic situation (easy enough to find confirmation of the on the web). Tell him that 3% or whatever is now too high.
All scammers are scumbags, but these prey on desperate people with poor credit records who have trouble getting loans. And who really can't afford to lose money to lads.

I like to wean them off the WU/Moneygram modality and insist on sending a direct transfer to their bank account. Report it to Alan and have a chance to close the scumbag down. The first account wont work of course, so insist on another and maybe even a third.

The fees requests I saw ranged from 85 to 300 bucks. Even at a lower end if a lad convinces 10 folks to send him money it is a very nice payday for him Sad

I haven't had much luck with loan lads - I usually write very detailed e-mails about how thrilled I am that somebody is giving me a loan while accidentally forgetting to give the lad whatever information he wants.

By the way, my rule for impatient lads is that for every time the word "urgent" appears in the e-mails, I wait one more day before sending my next reply.
