Have you considered putting 419 eater on Facebook?

I am curious about this...

Facebook gets an awful lot of traffic, and it's a highly-addictive site (I am an addict myself).

Please let me know your take on this.

I'm not a mod, I don't know the official line, but that would sound counterproductive to me. Baiters need anonymity and to keep their real lives absolutely separate from their baiting lives (as baiters do things that annoy real life criminals!)

re: Facebook (hijack over): I'm not quite sure what you're asking. Are you suggesting we start a 419Eater facebook group? I don't think that's a good idea. First of all, we have a place to meet and communicate, which is right here on the forum. Secondly, we don't want people associating any real life information with their baiting personas.

I dont know much about all this myface and spacebook malarkey, but if the aggro we had with the online dictionary thing is anything to go by, this would just become a doofus magnet.

BTW, if you ever find out the real name (or nickname) of any of your pets, look him up on Facebook. I have a full set of pics of one of my lads, and all his ugly mates too.

Some companies and organisations use facebook as a medium for providing information on their products, services and missions. Creating a eater facebook profile would simply be using the popular site to provide information and links to eater.

I think I kind of understand both sides of this discussion. We do want wxposure so that fewer people are strgged into scams. It would take someone's time away from baiting.

I would think that Scamwarners would be a better candidate for a "social networking" site.

I think a Scamwarners profile on Facebook would be a good idea. Screw Myspace, I'm ready to close my RL account down over there.

Yes, I don't think Eater is a good idea, but Scamwarners would be a better candidate. If one were to inadvertantly associate with Eater without realising they are logged into their personal account, we could encounter some problems.
