Hey everyone.

I'm new to this whole scambaiting. I found this site a few weeks ago and browsed for a while. I've finally decided to get in on the whole act. I've been putting my email around waiting for replys. I was intending on starting off with some 419 scams but the first email I got was this one:

Like I say I was originally gonna start with some 419 scams just to cut my teeth but then when this arrived I was thinking of giving it a go. I don't really know anything about lovescams. Anyone have any advice? Should I just stick to 419's for a while and "learn my trade" there? I'm getting a mentor but I haven't got it yet so maybe I'll just hang on and get help from him/her!

It can be really fun to have a mix of baits going so as not to get to bored but a romance bait is a great place to start. You might really like it and it can be very fun. I hope you have read the stickies and know to only use fake details in all your baits with an IP stripping email account.

When I start a new romance with a lad I have a list of questions I like to ask to get the general chat going. Most prefer to chat on an instant messenger of some kind. Some will tolerate by emails but they usually love to YIM. I write my characters details down so if i get asked a question I can check really quick to always give the same answer.

I just pretend im looking for love and I act a little cautious at first just like a real victim would be. I try to keep it really real until i get them hooked then you can start messing with their minds Twisted Evil

You might find that that email is just a prelimanary for a Refugee with some inherited millions that they would like to put into your bank account ... after you've paid some necessary fees. If so, they will speak of their love for you (to motivate you), but not really get into the whole romance bit, oftentimes all too quick to palm you off to their Reverend and/or Lawyer.

I don't have heaps of experience myself, but my most successful Refugee baits have been when I've said I wasn't able to handle their bank accounts, but perhaps there was something else I could help them with. They seemed quite happy to have a few hundred for their passport instead (though with one, I had to actually suggest the passport angle myself).

I tried turning one into a straight love bait, but I think the Lad simply didn't know where to go with it, and he gave up after writing about 20 emails (and still not suggesting any fees for anything to be paid).

They can take their time asking for money -- sometimes months ... they will hint at personal problems that you sympathize with ... I usually mention that I'm so broke all I can eat is beans, no meat...then they will build up to asking for money...

I've had one lad on the line for 5 months now over $50, I finally got tired of him and M7CN S3cur3d him - twice - and he spent a lot of hours trying to click the correct boxes...now he wants a Money Gram, lol, sorry they use the same process but I'm willing to try to send it to him...

I like romance baiting since I consider them the lowest of the low -- they prey on single, lonely men and women and often take all they have before dropping them...so the victim ends up broke AND truly heart broken...

My experience with lads from africa is they want to YIM a lot ... but I have heard that Vlads (russians) prefer e-mail so they can use translators...

Don't let their lack of english skills fool you - they make money or they wouldn't stay in that business long...

Cheers for the tips guys! I got a whole load of 419's in today so I think I might go at one of those and one love one. Before I start though, I set up a fake account in Gmail, will that send my IP address or am I ok?

gmail is good--it strips IPs.
