I just heard on the morning news here in the U.S. about Australia Day.

I just wanted to wish them all a happy day but since they are already on Tuesday sorry its a bit late Very Happy

Also I wanted to mention the great tennis going on down there and I also appreciated the chair fight between two teams. That was most interesting.

Yep another long weekend to go fishing and the rug rats go back to school tomorrow/today and there's easter eggs & hot crossed buns in the shops allready. :yikes:

The tennis is great, though I can't believe people would start a fight over a tennis ball. As usual almost all our Aussie tennis players are gone. I go for Federer anyway. Smile

I had a great time watching the fireworks over Perth's CBD from the Royal Perth Yatch Club, whilst sinking a few tinnies. Absolutely fantastic display.

Belated, but thank you,

I had an unusual Australia day, woke up in far North Quensland to the sound of "football, meat pies, kangaroos and Holden cars, had Snapper and fruit for breakfast before attending some beachside Australia day celebrations, I then went to Sydney and attended another celebration on a grass hill with 40,000 other people to watch some great fireworks and drunk people chanting Australian slogans, I then sat in a car park for an hour before driving home, getting there at about 11 pm.

It was a great day, even the light rain didn't dampen the enthusiasm Laughing

Don't watch the tennis myself, so I woke in crappy flat in Melbourne VERY seedy from partying with friends the night before. worked on some music, then my daughter came round

fun (but I gotta lay off the gin)

you think the chair fight was good, you should have seen the fights in Cronulla back in '05!

that sort of thing really gives naturalised aussies a bad name.
