Should I fake a technical problem for Moneygramm transfer?

To forum readers,
Recently I have contacted a "barrister" in Abidjan who did not want me to go to his country to pay $730 for a power of attorney. He wants me to pay through Western Union or Moneygramm by tomorrow. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I could fake a major, convincable error on his part or someone elses fault? I have told him earlier that I do not use Moneygramm or Western Union. Any convincable suggestions that would make it look as if I had worked hard to send the money on Monneygramm or Western Union would be greatly appreciated.

Local power failure, employees on strike, bomb alert, had to rush friend to hospital, heavy rain - no transportation, your interweb connection failed so you did not view lads mail till Wednesday morning, ATM run out of money, had minor accident and took to hospital for checks and outlet closed for rest of day/night.

Wetern Union?Don't they do telegrams or something?How on earth do you send money with them?Moneygram?Please explain in detail what is is?Besides,you live in a rural area and the nearest town is a good 50 mile ride.Can't he possibly supply you with a bank account number so you can transfer it via phone? I like to use the "small traffic accident" excuse which means that my car is in the repair shop for the next week so I can't make the transfer. Only once did a mugu question that and I sent him a picture from the internet of a car with a smashed in fender.

I did something similar before, photochopped a quick phony news story about how my car spontaneously combusted in the parkinglot, even included a phony picture of a car on fire. It's not necessary to go to that length but it adds credibility to you and can buy you weeks of time before you can 'make a payment' .. just remember something always goes wrong, and then when you finally get it right, theres a sticker, receipt covering the MTCN, or you scanned the back, or spilled your coffee on it if your good with photoshop. he asks the number, 0's and 8's constantly get confused because you have poor eyesight, or maybe his dollar has been chopped.. you tell him that some guy named barrister franklin said the payment was for him, he'll go apeshit crazy

Thanks. I told him that I was involved in a collision with a semi trailer on Broadway and that I was now in a body cast. He believed it. Thanks for the suggestions.
