hi guys

wonder if anybody could point me in the right direction in choosing a international calling plan.

i have checked google and some of the main voip sites but i can not really see any good deals for ringing nigeria and other countrys.

if anyone is on good package mainly voip then please let me know

I say screw calling them birde.

Let them waste their own money/time with their worthless phone calls, not yours.

Worse comes to worse, just tell your lad that your phone plan doesn't allow you to call internationally.

Most people here use skype. I have never used it, but it seems to be the standard, especially for those in the US here where SIM cards are not the norm.

from the UK try http://www.1899.com, usually very cheap on everything but not sure if they cover your area.

I wonder if anyone would be interested in a specialist baiter calling service with bargain rates? I was considering setting one up at 5p/min to Lagos (no calling cards, no signups, connection charges, monthly fees, etc), Australia 3p/min, US 2p/min etc., but it'd depend on interest levels!

Indeed, it's far better for your lads to pay lots of money to call you. More balanced, you know.

I can set up a UK one pretty easily but international access would be trickIer...the scheme I was considering was a simple one - you call a UK 07 or 08 number (as appropriate for the call cost) then dial in the target number. No passwords, credit cards, etc. I'd have to look into Oz, US, etc local access numbers too. Leave it with me, I'll start a thread if it looks viable. Skype is far far too expensive, blooming profiteers.

i think i may be losing it as last few days i have just wanted to get in to slagging mach with my lad and then a make up lol but its not happening maybe its just a time of the month.

and now i wanna ring them only if i can find really cheap international plan

i know that o2 on pay as you go have diffrent tariffs and they reward you just for topping up they do this international number where just for putting 10 pound on your phone u get 50 minutes to ring international numbers that includes by look of it ghana nigeria and others and 15 pound gets 100 mins and 30 pound gets u 200 mins all mins either landline or mobile for the country's listed, but great thing about this offer is that you get to keep the top up money and then purchase add ons they call bolt ons get certain amount of mins and texts, so u could get ur international calls free just for topping up and using your credit to purchase ur calls and texts. with this the international calls are rewarded just for topping up Smile

so u keep ur money.

1899 don't appear to cover Nigeria for some reason, that said they're so cheap it may be worth a try just in case it dropped off their list

Skype offer one free landline call, but otherwise they're expensive considering the service.

I'll look into getting us a cheap calling out to West Africa service set up for others in your position

Freecall are the mob I use, they tend to be quite good- have had no problems yet. Nigeria is 0.12 euros per minute.

Calls to UK landlines, and US mobiles and landlines are free.

I'm only familiar w/ Skype, but if you are looking to also record your lad calls it has some good 3rd party addons (Pamela & Pretty May) that can do it.
