They think they're gettong $200,000 USD, I believe that's the sum they're talking about. The US address is something they're using to make it look real, the IPs have always been Lagos.

Church alive is a real church with congregations spread throughout the United States. The phone number they list is similar to the number for the church in Milnesville, PA but is off by 2 digits. Nothing on the church website says anything about African outreach. In fact, there is an 'outreach' section on the website and all it talks about is local projects.

I called the number and it is the cellphone for some random woman.

If this one peters out, I have a similar bait ready to go. Lad thinks I am a reverend and was scamming me alone until I saw the dollar amount he was requesting to access my millions. I told him that I, alone, could not pull together that much money ($30,000) but that my church could easily. He told me, from the very first e-mail, that he was going to use his portion of the funds for charitable work which is why I was willing to help him. I also have him convinced that our church has missionaries spread throughout the world including several in Africa.

In my last e-mail to him I asked his permission to pass his request on to the church accountant and administrative assistant. If he agrees, I am going to need some co-conspirators.

I have spent the last few weeks convincing him that I am fairly old and forgetful. I have confused him with other charitable partners on a few occassions and have asked him to remind me exactly what he needs from me already a couple of times. He wants phone numbers of any of our African missionaries which gives me hope that we might get him on a safari.

ETA: I'm not done with Dannyboy, not just yet. He's been away since Christmas, I believe he is a college student in Port Harcourt. My guess is he went home for the break but should be back soon.

My new lad dropped his asking price significantly when I mentioned bringing the church into the deal. Still, he is asking for much more money than I have on hand. I am going to try to raise the money myself for a bit before trying the church angle again. I do have some precious family heirlooms I can try to sell but parting with them will be painful. I wonder if the lad can talk me into it?

I know the feeling well. Whatever they need or want is always at least a monthy pay day away for me to manage it. Often unbelievably longer because of staff strikes, computer malfunctions and bank clearance delays to name but three.

It causes them a great deal of unecessary stress and me much mirth.

I'm sure, with enough pressure, the lad can talk me into selling the silver tea service and the handcrafted jewelry boxes my dear mother left for me in her will. They are easily worth the amount of money he needs to access our millions. Still, it does take some time to get such items appraised and you know how unreliable antique purchasers can be, they often back out of deals at the last minute.
