I just realized... why not see if we can get the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League to make a very small change to their team name to become the 419ers? I mean the gold rush, while very important to California, is old news (1849!) and 419 scams are still rampant. It would definitely help to raise awareness.

Obviously I jest (or do I?), but it got me thinking about possible mascots for the San Francisco 419ers. The Morris lads came to mind right away for me. Very Happy

I'm sure the 419ers would play in Western Union Stadium, no less.

I don't know much about how attached fans are to the name and meaning behind the 49ers, but I am obligated to add that the Colts are destined to this year to make it three straight championships for a Manning.

Ahm3d K@d1r1 (ARK) can be the mascot. He's the biggest clown, and the jolliest of 419'ers. Instead of playing with a football, they use a wadded up MTCN receipt.

Think of the safari potential.....send the team to some West African armpit to play the local team.

Nah....we'd be getting 'Help me! I'm a tight end, stuck in a Lagos hotel and owe a hotel bill and the manager won't give my passport and plane ticket back until I pay it. Oh, help me!
