Had this in my catcher account today, not seen anything like it before, any body any ideas how they're hoping to get money from it?

It's going to be a classic cheque/overpayment scam. Scamorama has some entries on it.

but wait and see what the others have to say as im new here and they know alot more then me Embarassed

I believe that Yastreb is correct - a classic overpayment scam. The lad blasts these out by the zillion. Some will be received by legitimate motel owners who will reply that they have room/s available. Lad pays in full with stolen credit card but before the motel owner realizes, the lad reduces the number of people staying or the length of the stay and ask for a refund.

I will most certainly pass on any card numbers to Alan.

I've sent him a nice email back, need to bone up on F@w1ty T0wer5 now, just for the fun of it of course.

EDIT:Got two credit card numbers from this lad, both passed on to Alan.

How long should I wait before telling my lad that the cards are being refused?

EDIT: Brought a certain Mr G0m3r into play today and my lad didn't even flinch, I am so annoyed.

EDIT: It's ok, I pushed him a bit on the subject of Mr G0m3r and he told me never to contact him again. He says he was his secretary but he had to be sacked because he gave me company credit cards. A bit harsh I think but perhaps it's got him worried.
