Scammers target the innocent, we target the guilty.

We have a total equal opportunities policy. All scammers are invited to inflict the worst possible punishment on themselves (and sometimes each other) that they can bare.

I don't want to prolong this thread if El Kun isn't going to defend his (no doubt well-intentioned but misguided) views....but if, as I have, he had seen a friend try to commit suicide because he was "let down" by a supposed girl-friend from Eastern Europe who proved to be a scammer (and was also probably a fat, greasy, middle-aged male, using some innocent girl's photos), he may feel less sympathetic to these criminals. You may wish to visit our friends at romancescam.com and read up on the subject, if you can be so offended and outraged at baiters baiting the guilty, you wait and see what love scammers do to real live humans too. "Murderers" is a bit harsh - if the trail of breadcrumbs leads to the edge of a cliff do you jump over to see if it continues? We lay trails, greed moves lads - there's nobody pushing anyone over the edge.

But perhaps in your mind we should just stand back and let everyone carry on scamming unhindered? Actually I really dislike the fact that vigilanteism is the only form of counter action - if law enforcement in the originating countries really wanted to stop the criminals, they could, but they don't. Our only option is to do what we can, and baiting is an action that helps. In fact this is where people get confused thinking it's racism at work - it clearly is not, all scammers are viable targets, whether in the UK, US, Africa, Russia, wherever. The great thing in the UK and US is you stand a real chance of getting arrested and tried for fraud so it is less common. Nigerian criminal scammers realise there is no risk from the law, so there's no deterrent (except what little we offer).

So thank you for expressing your outrage and concern - I hope you will take the time to read this thread and maybe reconsider your arguments - many of them may change with a bit more research, and you can never have too much education Smile

Most of us here practice what we preach - kicking the butts of scammers irrespective of who they are.

I'm not sure what the OP is preaching - peace to butterflies - fair enough, but that would need to be posted in the General Trivia Forum under Lepidoptera. Very Happy
