What is your plan exactly?

Work on him a little bit more to get him off his script.

Tell him that you've got a ton of money that you've been setting aside for this type of once in a lifetime opportunity.
Tell him you hide said money in a secret box in your attic or something.

Play with his imagination a little.

My plan is to keep him hooked for the way things are going right now. When he asks for the fee upfront, my plan is to get some bank accounts out of him then get his dollar chopped. Later, as my charity is collecting funds for the sargent, I would like to get him to travel but all that is premature. Keep seeing the thread for updates. I wil play with the money angle but that modality of a trunk of cash waiting for him may not work on him as he is the one trying to get me interested in a trunk of cash. If does get interested, that would be ultimate irony don't you think? I will try that later.

I honestly wouldn't try and plan that far ahead.
Since you answered his first email he already believes that you're interested in his trunk of cash.
The tricky part is reeling them in thinking that you're easy $$$
Acting gullible and talking about how much random money you have lying around will get him salivating.

While you are right about playing the gullible victim role... having a plan for a bait is not a bad way to go...

Some of the best baits came from the fact the the baiters sticked to THEIR planned script... some lads twigged... some got hooked... but that can happen even when you are playing the gullible victim.

Have fun... experiment... if he twiggs, bait him again from a different addy and try a new approach... see what work for you and for the lads.

I understand what you're saying. And I do suggest writing down potential scripts for future use.
But one has to keep things fairly simple until the guy is sufficiently hooked. Otherwise he'll just drop you and start talking to the next victim or baiter that he doesn't have to put as much thought into.

It's like the $100 theory.
If some guy stole $100 from you in one swipe, you'd notice it.
If he stole $1 at a time, you might not catch him.

But hey, I'm only 6 months into this whole thing.

I love the youthful enthusiasm. You will find that as time goes by you will develop your own style and preferences as to the types of baits you run. Remeber two things:
To have fun.
You are making a difference (however small)

I think it's great to have a plan that far ahead even though it never usually goes that way. If you do have a set plan and a bunch of modalities you wish to use in your bait it's helpful to go through that list each time an opportunity presents itself. Be prepared I say.

The best thing to do it to keep us updated with your direction so if we see another opportunity to exploit you can continue the bait for months.

I have tried to bait using a fixed plan, and it has worked very very few times as I planned. I have almost always had to change most or all the things.

My advice is to adapt to the situation. Knowing how he acts, his behaviour, his greedy, where he is, etc, and go making your plan little by little, step by step. You know, just think "would this work or not", and try. If it doesn't work you can always try something else, or try it with another character, or another lad, etc.

My recommendation: get a mentor, have a look at the surplus forum to have at least 6 or 7 lads at the same time and then select the ones you can have more fun with.

And of course, bait safe!!!

I have a lad who wants to call. My persona name is Pete Zuria (get it? Pizzaria?) and am running a charity for wounded american veterans and my lad is trying to get money out of a war zone. He wants to call and I am stalling him but if a veteran baiter would like to bait this guy and chat him up, that would be great.

Points to consider

1) He wants to earn my trust so ask questions about the transaction
2)My j2 number is not satisfying him so he will be calling internationally so waste his time. Ask questions and remember, for the bait I am borrowing a cell phone from a friend so you can decide to tell him when he should call. He is in Spain so choose your time that woudld most inconvenience him.
3) At the end of the call, after lots of time wasted of course, pretend that he has won your trust.
4) Post the results here so I can follow along with the rest of the eater community.

After a trust won, there will be the ask. Lets see when that happens. I have ideas about the ask too,

Set up a K7 number (http://www.k7.net/)... they can call and leave a message... they can even fax... It makes most lads happy...

You can always make an excuse why your didn't answer the phone...
