Christmas, that's this that "eat and drink as much as you can" holiday after this really really big and expensive shopping spree through totally overcrowded shopping centers, right?

In my family it's doing a "secret santa" name exchange and making homemade gifts for that person. It's taking the kids for walks/rides to look at the lights while singing/playing Christmas music, baking cookies for Santa, . . . I'd continue but it gets pretty sappy. Embarassed

Even though it hasn't stuck to the ground, I officially had to clear over an inch of snow off my windshield this morning to head to work. That makes it time for mine!

@ mathias - Your first link, most of them look like the kind of love things that only die-hard romance lads would send out, with all the flashes and "cutie" appearances (or preferably, both combined) Very Happy

Hmmm...I haven´t thought of it yet but possibly from the next weekend on I´ll be putting up Little Rural Riding Hood again, I don´t think I can find anything more decent. Or I´ll just photochop the pirate ship out and put a tiny (tiny!) Jingle Bells-sledge behind Milla Smile

Well, we could trade off lads for the week around Xmas. We would BCC the messages to the original baiter, then just drop out after the gag was over.

Or (option two)

We do a "White Elephant" exchange of lads that are no loger fun to other baiters who then try to keep them going as along as possible. This could includ mass baiting too.

As of tomorrow (when I wake up!) I'll be starting Advent avatars!! yes since this thread went up even before the Jack O'lanterns had completely rotted, right up until christmas I will have 25 different pics.

OK - I usually write faith-based Christmas poems for my cards, but this year I was inspired by the plethora of outrageous lawn displays, so here is this year's poem:

Display

Atop a pole a Christmas star
Lights up a scene that's quite bizarre.
The figures on my neighbor's lawn
Are animated, dusk to dawn.

The Baby Jesus catches eyes
As naked in the straw he lies.
The Virgin Mother, rather stout,
Puts him inside and takes him out.

The donkey's tail moves back and forth;
He swings his head from south to north.
The camel chews his cud a bit
And looks as if he's gonna spit.

Beside the scene, in tall black boots,
A wooden soldier snaps salutes.
His arm has gone a little wild
And knocked to earth a shepherd child.

Across the lawn a flock of elves
Cavort and dance among themselves.
A snowman and his lady-lass
Bounce up and down upon the grass.

And on the rooftop, Santa Claus
Defies all gravitation laws
To dangerously swing and sway
Within a reindeer-driven sleigh.

Now I'm not one to plan and plot
To sabotage this happy lot.
But I'd be hard-put not to scoff
If Neighbor's power got cut off.
