I'm new to this but have been approached by these weasels before. This is why you can guess that I'm happy that the 419 Eater exists.

I've set up a fake email account and have read the FAQ on this site.

Now I have a scammer interested but he wants my address. What should I do at this point?

Make one up
Invent a street/ avenue/island/farm
Check google to see it doesnt exist as you dont want to involve any innocent third parties
Dont give the local store/ police station/ takeaway addy

It depends how sophisticated your lads are. Some lads will be satisfied with

others may be more sophisticated. If Sarah Palin is scamming you, the above should work, what with, you know, Africa being a country and all.

If it is just a mailing address, making one up usually suffices. Just make sure that it doesn't correlate to an ITP (Innocent Third Party).

If you want something shipped, become a Premium Member (this also supports the Eater site).

Most lads don't really care about your address, they just think it sounds professional to ask for it.
Make one up - pick as small town somewhere in your country and change a couple of letters, then invent a road, state, and code and there you go.

As above, do not use real addresses - we totally frown on involving ITP's.

If you haven't already done so, sign up for a mentor. They are worth the money they charge (nothing Laughing

). Just to run the odd suggestion past them, or ask for a little help or advice at times.

Main thing is - have fun.
