I see the shadow of her arm and the paper on the wall. but don't see her shadow. hmm unless it was a setup photo with the flash above and slightly to the left of her. It's better that some of the ones that I've gotten where they use paint and try and write the message and make me believe it's really them. I have about 39 photos of her. if you would like to write her PM me. she likes sends photos 3-4 at a time.

It isn't a bad job for a lad, he would have spent considerable time producing that for you, time he would otherwise have spent trying to scam somebody.

I have great difficulties analyzing this photo, my eyes seem to always be attracted by a particular area.

Anyway, this seems real to me. Shadows look real, there even is the shadow of the paper on her arm. Depending of the light location, it could be normal that we don't see the shadow of her head. Don't look photoshoped to me.
Or if it is (but I doubt it is) this is really a great job. From a pro.

Anyway if they have access to the model and can produce such photos you should ask for many more!! Twisted Evil

The blurring on the top right corner of the paper confirms "photochop" Lighting in some circumstances could cause abnormal shadows, but can't cause that blurring.

But like Murry said, this would have required time and effort on the part of your vlad, and that means you are doing things right.

Have you tried using tineye to see if you can find some of those pics posted elsewhere?

Thanks for the hint about tineye. I'll see if I can locate the real source if this one is fake. whoever it is has many photos of this girl. like I said, I have 39 different ones. different hair color. either they photoshoped the hair or I have someone that has a girlfriend that likes to pose. I always get 3-4 photos per letter. and yes, thanks. I'm keeping her as busy as can be. she is just now getting to the money phase after 2 months. this is what prompted the photo. in all of her photos, she is top-heavy. must be cheap surgery in that part of the world? Thanks again for the encouragement. I keep trying to take their time. if anyone wants to join in, PM me. I have her on two different characters and it takes about one month to get her off the scripts. I'm sure she'll write you too.

Oooooh! A live vlad! (drools) If this is a different one from your "Boris is getting lazy" thread, could you post the original letter and obfuscated address for this one too? Pretty please! I want some vlads, but they seem to be hard to find.

I'm no expert on the subject, but the lighting on the paper seems a little too constant to me. My impression is it's a stolen or re-used photo of a girl holding a sign. The vlad erased the original message, and replaced it with one for you. But that's probably a good 15-20 minutes of work, so you're wasting his time. Congrats! Wink

If you have the software and know how to do it, read the EXIF data of the photo. If your vlad wasn't bright enough to cover his tracks, that will tell you when the original was taken.

Dorothy, you were right. THANKS Tineye discovered that she/he stole about 12 photos from a Italian myspace type of site and a porno site for a couple of her in lingerie. but I'll keep asking since she likes to send them while waiting for that darn money-gram MTC.

I tried reading the EXIF but didn't get any info.

I have about 12 running on a couple of my characters. some of them the same. I have to remember to answer differently for each character so I stick a post-it to the monitor when I am answering so I don't give the same reply to her scripts. I do read the stickies.

Vlad, that would explain the photshop skills, Vlads are much better than lads at photoshop, I tried Tineye myself last night but didn't get any results so well done on finding something.

It did take a lot of practice but I learnt to look past the obvious distractions a while back, it helped to remind myself that I can come back to have another look later Wink

The scammer never had access to that girl, she didn't look Russian but you can also get an idea by looking at the surroundings, not that there is much to go by in that photo but live vlads always seem to be surrounded by 1970s looking wall paper and decor that looks like it was from 40 years ago, also the lighting never seems to be adequate, in that photo it looks like the lighting is in a photo studio and with good reason.

They are also big on photos in the bedroom where you can often see Boris' vest hanging on a chair.

Look through some of the trophy pics in the older threads, a search on the romance section for Vlad trophy photo should reveal a few as will the romance calandar if you find that thread

Thanks for the addy. But after getting some helpful tips from members here and doing a bit of research on the "Romance Scams" website, I found out how to get myself buried in vlads with little effort. It's probably better to do it that way and wait for them to write to me, rather than contacting Boris (or whatever your "girl's" real name is) out of the blue. The vlads seem brighter and more paranoid than the african lads, so I would probably just get ignored.

I think this is real. Why would it be fake or not a woman. Woman desperate for money are just as likely as the next person to want to scam people. Bet she's done it loads, probably scammed thousands out of sad old english men in the past. Your bait probably won't stop her from doing it again either, she's a cash cow, bet she's got at least 5 real blokes on the go as we speak!

Did anyone see that program on russian brides, they act all lovely and innocent to the blokes but they were really clever and good at getting doe out of them.

We have proven it is a real picture of a real girl with fake boobs who has had her photo stolen by a real Russian scammer who is a real dirtbag, the dirtbag has done a really good job of photoshop and wasted real time doing it to make it look real.

Female scammers do exist in the FSU, but they're rare. Mainly because it's too dangerous. Scamming there is big business, and controlled by the Russian mafia. The men control everything (including sending the letters). A female scammer will often have a guy waiting for her outside the WU/MG office that will take her money and tell her to find another line of work, or join an "office" as a "secretary". Girls are hired to translate letters, talk on the phone and sometimes pose for pictures. But most of the pictures are stolen or recycled. Its cheaper and faster than paying a girl to pose. Scammers are lazy and greedy. Wink

The photo is obviously of a real girl holding a sheet of paper. But it's unlikely that the message is the one that was originally there. The photo was most likely stolen from an innocent girl's photo gallery, or from another scammer. Erasing the original message and drawing a new one for joseywales would take about 15-20 minutes for someone used to working with PhotoShop. It's highly likely that his scammer has no idea who this girl is. That's what makes it "fake". But there's a remote possibility that she works for his "office" and was paid to pose for this specific photo. In that case it would be "real".

In either case, joseywales wasted some of the scammer's time (and maybe money) working on PhotoShop or taking a photo, which is always a good thing. Thumbs up

That's usually true also, but not always. Though it probably is for the smaller poorer cities like Yoshkar-Ola and surrounding area. But Russia is modernizing. In some parts of Moscow, you'd swear you're in the US or Canada, especially inside certain buildings.
