Interesting - this is past tense and says that he did and didn't cash the check:

To me it's obvious he didn't fall for the scam:

ETA: "and confirmed" also should be "and they (it?) confirmed"
If even a cloggy can spot the language errors something must be wrong. Very Happy

This part, worded something like this would have been much more clear:

Had Ken wired the money, his bank would have called him within days to let him know that the check that he cashed was counterfeit and that he would have to pay all of the money back. Very Happy
