The spammers of the globe have figured out methods to sell fake viagra, and scam people into buying it without the use of emails. Visit http://www.google.com and type in the keyword viagra edu. You will notice in many of the search results are hacked United States Universities appearing to be unloading fake viagra.

On a slightly related topic....

I was off to the travel clinic today for my yearly order of pharmeceuticals (sp?) for my annual trip to Kenya/Uganda and had an interesting converstion with the doctor who said they did a study of drugs in east/central africa and found up to 60% as being counterfeit. Apparently the Chinese are the experts in this field. It certainly explains when my friends in nairobi talk about the drugs not getting them better. I have bought Malarone in Kenya when I ran out. apparently they can package the stuff with the Glaxo-Kline logo to look completely believeable. Food for thought.

Larry, can you recover the doctor's name and forward the details to the proper authorities? I'm sure the Red Cross' mission being nulled is an issue to somebody in the world?

Larry didn't mention the Red Cross.
It is common knowledge that there is mass distribution of fake drugs and medicines in Africa.
Larry's doctor hasn't stumbled upon some new earth-shattering news.

I also knew that there was a problem with counterfeit drugs in Africa. The thing that raised my eyebrow was the suggestion that up to 60% of the drugs surveyed were counterfeit. It is a massive problem. I always travel with a full medical kit when I go in and it is always empty when I leave since I give everything away.
