Alright, I have found possibly the dumbest lad who had ever lived. He is incredibly gullible, and horribly easy to mess with. So, what I am doing is posing as "Tex" from Red Vs. Blue for this bait; which makes for good storyline. I'm trying to get my bf to act as "Sarge", or at least "Donut" from the Red Team for this bait as well.
I am just going out of my way right now to confuse my lad, using Halo references and the like. I'm thinking that when it comes time to swoop in and get the trophies, I am going to have him do a few things:
1. Hold a sign saying "My name is Michael J. Caboose, and I HATE babies!"
2. Carve a statue of Caboose and Andy.
3. Get a few of his friends together to re-enact one of several scenes from R V B... and photograph the process.
This is not exactly going to be a serious bait. It promises to be rather comical and crazy. And as always, all suggestions are welcome! |

Just be careful you don't overplay your hand - lads are like fish, you wind them in then slack them out a bit - it tires them out and makes the final reeling in easier. If you go for trophies too early he'll break and run (fishing analogy fails utterly at this point) |

Red V Blue is funny. I loved that series.
If you lad falls for it then it's never a waste of time, regardless of how 'serious' the bait. Serious baiting isn't about the content, or how you amuse yourself while you mess with these scammers, it's the outcome and the total amount of time and resources wasted. Amusing yourself is just a perk.
I do believe we've had a baiter have a Halo figure carved and also one made of bronze. They are spectacular efforts.
@manbiteslion - I do love a good fishing analogy. |

@manbiteslion: Great fishing analogy~ I'm planning on just reeling him in slowly, and over a period of time, having him completely embarrassed and confused. So far, it's lasted a few days. So far, he's fallen for everything that I've told him. He's proving to be quite a bit of fun XD
@Nurse Nasty: Yeah, it was extremely funny. I've only watched it about four or five times. ^^
He's fallen for it, which is the funny part. He believes that he has to be careful now, else the Red Team will try and steal his flag. Also, you have a very good point. I'm planning on making this last just as long as humanly possible, including the fact that I'm going to have him try to locate the Red and Blue bases.. gonna send him to a couple different places under the premise that "our base has been moved." Or some such like that... but that's all going to be in the distant future.
And yeah, it would have been absolutely amazing to see those statues~ I bet that, even if the worksmanship was shoddy, it would have been downright incredible just to have a Halo figure crafted from bronze! |
