I have a lad who loves to use flowery language at the moment. His favourite phrase is "By and large" which of course means "Most of the time" or "In general". Trouble is, he doesn't really know what it means, so he uses it in completely the wrong context, such as "By and large, you are to contact the bank officer" or "By and large, I will call you at 9pm tonight".
It really tickles me to see lads doing this. They've obviously seen the phrases and words and think "wow, that looks nice, I'll be really impressive if I use that phrase".
Do you have an overly verbose or flowery lad who has no idea what his phrases mean? |

While not particularly flowery, my favorite pet, Ray King, constantly uses one phrase incorrectly: "like I previously said". He always types, "unlike I previously said". |

My current favorite is constantly saying "we come in peace" to romance my character. |

It just sounds strange, but lads tend to abuse a term "MOTHERLESS CHILDREN".
For example, one lad said something like "Please help the orphans and motherless children!!!"
Which is basically the same thing... plus it just sounds weird. |
