Hey guys,

Easy to access porn sites are a key asset to installs of malware, spyware, and other harmful files.. so here's a question about combating it:

I'm not sure if anyone is LE, but I was wondering about a specific rule regarding COPA. Definition: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Child_Online_Protection_Act

This is an act that protects pornographic content from minors.

My question is: Does a website REQUIRE an age verification tool, such as entering date of birth, etc? From what I have read from 2004-2008 it seems as though there have been a lot of appeals, and if you type main sexual terms into google, there are craploads of sites not verifiying.

What does it all mean? (on the legal level) .. if it is violating the law (please provide details of where it shows it) and if so, where can it be reported?

Really? What would the interent be without porn?

If you don't want to see it, don't go there.

Well, in a number of ways I think baiting also involves a process of reporting the findings of an incident online. Also, the porn contains the malicious materials that store information about users that in turn goes to spammers for their endeavors. This is just my way of trying to extend the range of "spammer resources" and finding methods to combat against it.

Its an US law. it is not enforceable outside the US. It does not count in the countries alot of sites are hosted

Even if they do have age verification tools, a user can enter any date they want to, so it's not going to be very effective.
