It's that time of year again, folks. I do love this holiday and regret not starting a thread on my pumpkin carving experiences yet!

I am going to be carving up a couple gourds tonight and need your votes to help me decide on what to carve!!

Thoughts are most appreciated!

Happy Halloween!

I'm a bit of a traditionalist with Jack O Lanterns. I like the fourth picture (starting at the top, left to right) and the last picture.

It depends on your aim. If your aim is to scare the whatever out of visitors, I'd go for the last one. If it's to show off your talents, I'd do the pirate one.

I once won a carving contest at a Halloween party with the simplest one - triangle eyes and nose and gap-toothed grin. There were some awesome pumpkins carved at that party, including one that used the oddly-shaped pumpkin to do a representation of "The Scream." So why did I win? The judges (people who hadn't carved a pumpkin) said it was a "Norman Rockwell Pumpkin." Smile

I'm not good with artistic endeavors.

I like the vomiting seeds one (see note about being twisted) and wanted to use it last year as my avatar, but didn't know how to resize for avatar use. This year, I forgot, but Exclamation

Carve your pumpkin in the style of a Western Union Sign. No one will get it except for us. If someone realizes what it means, give them a reward in the form of a fake check.

I did Hello Kitty and lit it up with a highway flare. Actually 7 road flares one at a time so I think the Alien would look good lit up.

My son luuuurves power tools. So we did our jack-o-lanterns with an electric drill on his home visit weekend. The pumpkins went back to the group home with him and I forgot to take pictures, but they look great. They're like points of light instead of big shapes. The toasted seeds were yummy too!
