Just for fun. Make 3 statements about yourself and 1 of them is a lie.

The first person who correctly guesses which of the 3 statements is the lie gets to give 3 statements of their own and so on:

Well here's mine, to start off with:

1 - When I was 5 I got my head stuck in the mouth of the bronze lion that sits outside a certain football stadium. It took 11 firemen and paramedics to saw through the tooth to get my head free. They gave me the sawn off tooth to take home as a 'trophy' - and to stop me crying!

2 - I used to rent a home from Englands worst serial killer. It was the childhood home that he was born and raised in and I didn't know he was a serial killer at the time. I just paid him rent and lived in his house.

3 - I am a genetic mutant. You know that dangly thing at the back of your throat? Well I have 2 of them. In an inverted 'Y' shape. The medical term for this condition is a bifurcated uvula.

Ok, your go! Very Happy

1 right, seems real, but no way to know for sure

2 the jury is still out on that one or you just gave us your former address Wink
Dr Harold Shipman murder of 15 of his patients
Dennis Nilsen, who claimed to have killed 16 young men
Fred and Rosemary West, their home in 25 Cromwell Street, Gloucester

3 does happen, but without hearing your voice or asking questions it's all a gamble for me. But a genetic mutant? I don't think so. But you wouldn't have known about it if..

My guess, 1 and 2 real 3 fake and how am I going to check it now Wink

Shipman murdered at least 215 people Bill. Crying or Very sad Probably more.

If that's true, then it's my former address Wink not where I live now.

As for the lion - well it's very tempting for a small child to put their head into the jaws of a bronze lion! I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often! Very Happy

Actually Bertand got it. It was another child who got his head stuck in the lions mouth. They did give him the tooth to take away with him too.

I rented a house from Dr Harold Shipman. I didn't know he was a serial killer back then. Nobody knew that then. It was his childhood home but he had moved out before I moved in and he was just my landlord. We didn't live together.

I do have a bifurcated uvula. It's a genetic mutation. It just means that instead of having one dangly thing at the back of your throat - I have 2 of them in an upside down 'Y' shape. Embarassed

It can be associated with a sub mucosal cleft palate but in my case it seems to be the only external symptom. So I'm otherwise average.. as far as I know... Embarassed

You'll have to randomly choose since nothing very exciting really happens to me Smile

So which one is a lie?

1/ When I was 9, I fell into a well at my Grand Parents'. I stayed for 3 hours in frozen water with rats and spiders until the firemen came down to rescue me. Since then I'm still afraid of cold water and find it difficult even to take a cold shower.

2/ I'm a bilboquet pro. I can put the ball on top of the spike 60 (sixty) times in 5 minutes, without failing even once.

3/ In 2004 I climbed on top of Mount Fuji, the highest moutain in Japan.

Wink

I think no 1 as there's unlikely to be spiders in water

no 2 is a daft game but someone must be good at it
no 3 is fairly easy if you're fit, theres a cable car part of the way and paths up ( so says hubby and son, they were there in August )

@nanny: There actually are water spiders that, as the name might suggest, happen to be in the water. But usually I guess these are more open waters than wells, like lakes or swampy areas.

I think that #2 is a lie, as I find it hard to imagine to do that sixty times without failure. I would probably need 60 minutes for 5 tries with 100% failures...

you got me there,
1 three hours is a long time, you would be frozen by then and the rats would have left.

2 never heard of it so that's a guess

3 you get around so that's not hard to do.

toss coin, heads is 1, .........................1 is the lie

Nanny Ogg got it right!

There was actually an old well at my grandparents' with old planks on top of it, and it was of course "forbidden" to go play around this area when we were kids. And of course we always played in this area... I'm surprised actually none of my cousin or me never fell into it... I should not have added rats and spiders Smile
As for bilboquet, bored student + lot of free time = silly records Smile
Mount Fuji is a marvellous place. Ascent is not that hard but very very long. But the reward is there at the top.

EDIT: typos

Do we have to wait for Nanny or can we have two going at once? If so here are my three things in no particular order:

1. In college I faked a marriage. My girlfriend and I made a certificate, got the guy pass out drunk so when he woke up he saw the certificate taped to his mirror. He had a wedding ring on his finger. I was laying asleep in his bed and his penis had been painted hunter's orange.

2. I had the second highest bowling average in the state of South Dakota when I was a teenager.

3. I was arrested for passing a bad check made payable to the sheriff of Minnehaha County in South Dakota.

@ from the hollow...

10 consecutive miles in 48 minutes? Or ten individual miles (or any breakdown from there) for a cumulative time of 48 minutes?

most people can smell cyanide, and 4% of the population are lefthanded, but porpoises sound odd, so 3 is a lie.

I'll play, what the hell.

#1: I have personally met, and talked with, every President of the United States for the past 32 years.

#2: I was the main subject of an article published in the New England Journal of Medicine, as a result of a new ground breaking operation.

#3: I delivered a baby in the performance of my official duties. (It was a boy)
