My roommate was going through a catalog the other day, and she found an item that is, I guess, a computer application that allows you to create your own -opoly game. You put in the names of streets, utilities, etc., and you print out the board (and I presume glue it to something sturdy), money, and cards.

She suggested someone might think up street names and card instructions for "Baiter-opoly."

The big one I thought of was: GO DIRECTLY TO ABECHE. DO NOT PASS WU. DO NOT COLLECT $200,000.

Any other suggestions for this game?

Oh...oh yes. Yes indeed.

First off, you rename all of the different property sets after formats. (Orphans, Romance, Trunk Box, Barrister, etc.) So instead of "Park Place" we have "Unclaimed Inheritance" and on Boardwalk we have "Lost Great-grandfather."

As you collect different formats, you can slowly build up baits on those formats. You begin with trophies (oop, Unclaimed Inheritance has three trophies on it, that'll cost your lad $300). Of course, you can trade four trophies and some cash in for a safari hat, which really costs the mugus.

Instead of "Abeche" I'd just name the jail "Streded." That way, we could put the best safari destinations in for the railroads.

Utilities would be billed as "Internet Cafe time"

After that, you just fill the community chest and the chance cards with various good baiting stories (and failed baiting ones as well; some good stuff can happen to your little mugu), turn "Free Parking" into "Google Mail," and pick out the siggy icon that you're going to use as your playing piece.

Instead of utilities have tattoo parlors ("Get a tattoo. Proceed to nearest tattoo parlor and pay $200. Do not pass go.")

Instead of railroads have airports. ("go to nearest airport and wait for your mugu. Lose a turn.")

Instead of "community chest" cards, have "trunk box" cards.

Instead of "chance" cards "Chop yo'dolla'" cards

Replace "Go Directly to Jail" cards with "You have won a trip from 5imba 5afaris!
Replace the income tax and the other tax squares with:
A: "The G0mer B0yz have come to see y ou"
B: "You were visited by Usm4n B3llo"
Replace Free Parking with "MTCN s3cur3"

Great stuff.

You could put a pith helmet image on the railroad squares along with every mugu's favourite destinations - Abeche, Abidjan, Accra and Cotonou.

Instead of little plastic houses, imitation gold bars. It would also be cool if the chance and community cards were written in ladspeak - "U DEY GO JAIL NOW SMALL BOI OOOOOO !!!"

One for the chance deck - "DEY G0M3RBOYZ CHOP U DOLLA. PAY $ ????"

I could map the whole thing out if I had time

You can keep the Utilities.

Electricity that only generates for 4 hours a day and a Water Works that drains sewerage into the streets isn't exactly my cup of tea.
