wondering if anyone here is into the computerized trivia you play at bars? My wife is big time into it, she has made a name for herself nationally (not that that is anything to be proud of, just means you spend way too much time sitting in a bar).
just kinda seemed like you guys are like the people we meet who are really into that.
You have to be fast, and have a memory for detail. You are playing against 1000s across the US and Canada.
or perhaps no one on Eater would enter such tawdry establishments as sports bars? |

I just try to guess the right questions on Jeopardy before the contestants do. Doesn't get me any recognition, but I usually beat 'em to the punch.  |

I remember being taken to our local when I was a kid. Their machine had relatively few questions, so my mum and her partner would clean it out every few weeks.
I think it stopped being our local when they upgraded the machine. |

no - you don't actually "win" anything except the honor and glory at your bar - it's all about getting high stats and a nat'l ranking. The top 5 scores at you bar are averaged, and bars are ranked, as well as individuals are ranked. The games last 15 to 30 mins, and then the primetime games last about an hour.
It goes on 24/7 in the US and Canada.
You have a little remote box you sit at your table and punch in your multiple choice answer, and the faster you hit the more pts you get.
It's really addictive, but I don't read as fast as my wife so it's frustrating to me. Most bars play as a team and scream out the answers - they'll have the game up on 3 - 4 TVs in a place.
I think ALL Buff Wild Wings have it. |
